Since last update... Well, we got a closure letter from Children's Aid, as well as hearing that our pediatrician actually yelled at them for persecuting us. I can't say I'm disappointed in either result.
Skeeve had another birthday. This makes him temporarily only five years younger than me. I enjoy that for the short time I can as well.
Skeeve, Omero, the Little Prince and I all went on a massive road trip. We were gone for five days, making a circuit from Ontario to Michigan to Ohio back to Michigan and back to Ontario. We spent the time visiting with friends at Ohayocon, generally enjoying ourselves. The only real downside to the convention was the presence of not only a massive Christ convention (being stalked through the hotel with someone whispering "Jesus loves you!" at you? Not fun), but also a national cheerleading competition. This would have been fine, except that the squads were all U-10. It got bitter very quickly as all the little girls pointed to all the geeks and decided they were scary and "freaks." Their mothers did nothing save tell them to keep their voices down. Interesting. We're the freaks for wearing odd clothing and carrying stuffed animals, but they're perfectly normal, dressing their six year olds up like prostitutes. Hmm. They all loved me just fine, but I think the part where I had the Little Prince tied to my chest helped that along. They were not impessed by my cheerful "someday, sweet pea, you'll grow up and be just an freaky as mommy and daddy!" I, however, was very entertained.
Also from the world of the Little Prince: Six months old! My little baby is already six months! We have an appointment to go in on Saturday to have photos taken. He is also rocking on his hands and knees, and army crawling. In the world of food, he is eating things like sticks of apple and pear, and the occasional steak fry. He also has a tooth! His right bottom incisor is through the skin! It's just a little white line that hurts Mommy right now, but it's through a little more every day. It looks like his lower left canine is only shortly behind. Goodness!
We have discovered the fabulousness that is ChoreWars. It is making life a good deal easier. Of course, I'm currently obliterating everyone across the board at our house, but... I'm sure that'll change as we go.
We are, once again, Chicago-bound! The Little Prince and I will be arriving at Midway on March 12, just after Gramma and Grampa get back from Las Vegas on the 11th! Skeeve will be joining us on the 16th, and we will all head sadly back home on the 19th.
And the minor news. This morning, I was browsing Green Baby Bargains hoping to be able to get the Little Prince some new shoes. Not only was I able to get two pairs for under $50 (after shipping and conversion), but I got the last pair of 8-12 month shoes they had. Just in the nick of time! The Little Prince is outgrowing all his shoes at once! They will be waiting for us at Gramma's house when we arrive in Chicago. Very exciting!
